How it works
- Install panda-agent on one teammate’s PC and pair it with Rust+ in game.
- Create a session — it mints one long invite code for your team.
- Teammates open the invite, sign in with Steam, and watch the same live panel.
Data and methodology
Rust+ access is not a website credential. Steam login proves who you are; the Rust+ player token is created by pairing in game and is delivered by push notification to the machine that paired it. That is why the panel is driven by a small desktop agent that keeps those tokens on your own PC, in the OS keychain, and sends only derived state — never a credential — to the site.
FAQ
- Why do I need a download if I already logged in with Steam?
- Steam login is identity only. It grants no Rust+ access at all. A Rust+ player token can only be created by pairing inside the game, and it is delivered to the machine that did the pairing, so something has to run on a PC.
- Can my teammates use it without installing anything?
- Yes. One teammate hosts with the agent; everyone else just opens the invite link and signs in with Steam. If the host closes their PC, any teammate with their own agent can take over hosting.
- Who can see my team’s panel?
- Only people who redeemed your invite code and are currently in your Rust team. Leaving the team removes access automatically.
